Nielson’s four temporaments

Thanks to trump – when I hear the word temporament – my first reaction was him – a wonderful piece from Nielson dedicated to human’s different temporaments – didn’t know that it could be a topic for composition as well ~

Before that we listened to the Brahms violin concerto – the audience was extremely enthusiastic as if it’s the New Years concert . I loved how clean the sound was when he switched the strings in one stroke – I loved how accurate the intonation was when the whole orchestra was quiet and listened to that small sound from his strings . But I didn’t quite understand the emotion in this piece to be honest . Lots of long strokes .

The Haydn last night simply sounded festive as if they were celebrating . The conductor brought out the clarity of phrases and the contrasts in this piece .
