Vaughan Williams’ last symphony was about Tess 

Listened to the London philharmonia tonight – mourned by the wind is comprised of slow development and windy strokes on the viola and sudden and random invasions from the percussions – abstract and bare feeling – Vaughan Williams no.9 symphony – the last symphony in his life was about Tess – the character was feministic, pretty but not so mains trail charactered – the death ending was not so sad and tragic – sounds positive actually
